its time...

"Since January 1, 2010, we've been praying for good weather on August 20, 2011. Tomorrow, we'll be claiming the Lord's promise. Join us as we pray for the best weather tomorrow. We believe that prayers can move mountains... ours, can stop the rain. Thank you." -Vonx & Vin.

3 days to go - ratrat-ing DIYs

Daycheck: 8-17-2011 1:59AM - 3 days til the our day!

3 days... parang SM 3 day sale nalang... we know how fast time flies right? the rest is history before we even know it.

I've been in Nova since Saturday AM. I went home Sunday night only to leave again early Monday morning. I miss my mom sooo much, more than words, more than anything, more than I can express. The thought of not seeing her and being with her everyday never fails to bring me to tears. And yes, a tear landed on my cheek just now. I'm still in the process of figuring out how to deal with these emotions. I'm guessing, I won't be able to figure things out but I've got to let destiny take its course.

On a lighter note, I've been busy with last minute DIYs (for those who don't know, DIY stands for Do It Yourself) to keep my mind and heart occupied from my impending loneliness and happiness.

Von and I were able to finish most of the things that needs to be done. Our ceremony and reception program had been finalized, we just need to iron out a few last minute details. Our grand entrance surprise is in the works. And, I'm mostly done packing the things that we would need to bring on the day. No, not my things from home. I need a stronger heart for that and I don't have the will just yet.

Amongst the happy things, DIY stuffs that has been accomplished are the ff:

pamaypay
Original plan for these fans is to dye them black. However, ayaw kumapet ng jobos so uwe sa ribbon at bulaklak. Hehe! Well at least, the guests will have fans kase the sun will be tirik na tirik on that day. Right Lord? Amen!

gifts for ninangs
No, these aren't wines. We bought hand purses for the ninangs and placed them in this cute paper bags. We DIY'ed the gift tags.

for our moms
Syempre mawawalan ba ang aming mga mother dears? Syempre hinde! Mawalan na lahat, wag lang si mama! =)

ties for the boys - groomsmen and secondary sponsors
Of course, we can't DIY the ties diba?! Hinde ako gnun ka mapangyarihan. Gift tags are still specially made.

love gift for our Pastor
We have yet to wrap our gifts for the ninongs and von's dad since wala pa kme mkitang sing cute na paper bag like that of the ninangs.

fascinator for the MOH and the FG

more fascinators for the girls - bridesmaids and secondary sponsors
I ordered black and red and black and purple fascinators for the girls.

taper candles (or whatever they call it!)
We bought cheap candles and I just decorated them like this. Though we wont be having a Unity Candle ceremony, our Pastor requested for candles to be lighted in the altar during the ceremony.

refreshments as place cards
Tipid mode. We didnt order bottomless drinks from the caterer so we opted to use drinks as place cards para double purpose.

notecards
Instead of the traditional guestbook, we'll have guests sign these notecards and hang them in a beaded curtain that will be setup in the reception area. Extra entertainment, while they wait for the reception to start.

just married banner
For pictorial purposes, syempre! Then we'll tie it on Stacey's back pg pauwe na. Papansin effect. Lol!

And... ang aming ultimate stress reliever at stress giver in one. Playtime with Vientong!

We'll be turning over the plans to our coordinator when we meet later. Hopefully, we just have to finish packing everything we need then organize the money that we'll be bringing then I can go HOME!!!

I'll be home until Friday morning... After that, I've got to get used to calling another place home. A place with no mama but with a husband. Emotions... kinda hard to figure them out eh?

Sigh... Yey! Sigh... Yey! Sigh..................

special delivery

something very very special has been delivered today.

fits perfectly sa trunk ni stacie

tara lets open.....

ahehehe teka... tsaka na daw sabe ni stacie!

Day of his birthday, our ever dearest designer, Boy Kastner Santos of Sheaths Couture, went out of his way to meet us and deliver this very special package. True sign of professionalism, commitment, passion to his craft and love for his clients. After the hell (well hell is a strong enough word, let me rephrase) After my dissatisfaction with my previous gown supplier (itago nlng nten cla sa pangalang CLC), Tito Boy has proven to be such a blessing. I remember when I was still scouting for someone to replace the first supplier, I told Tito Boy that he just might be the answer to my prayers. He said, "oo baka ako na nga!". And he was. No wonder a lot of brides love him.

I can't rave enough about how good a heart Tito Boy has, in terms of the gown, well it'll speak for itself in its due time.

To Tito Boy, happy birthday! I'm super sure you'll reach the top. Talbog silang lahat! And you won't be alone when you get there. =) In my own little way, I'll do my best to help you. Un sinabe ko sau kanina, I'll really do that, until forever or til you'll want me too. Again, thank you! You're blessed.

paint job

as we near the end of July and welcome the month of August, our soon to be new home is also right on schedule in welcoming the soon to be Mr & Mrs Mañalac.

paint job - almost done! home is almost almost ready.

i think we can move in, in 2 weeks time. :)

1st week of July lng, pad looks like this. Thanks to Kuya Roden, it looks more live-able now.

our lavender themed rest room. pardon the pics, di ko alam why mukang light blue ang tiles, lavender talaga sya sa totoong buhay. and no.. the whole house isn't painted lavender, violet or purple! syempre hinde papayag ang rakista kng asawa. i just really wanted a certain corner of the house in a shade of violet. a mark that i live in the place .

Von wouldn't agree with violet walls but he agreed to yellow. Cheery-ness! Our living & dining area at ang labas ng apartment. View from the service area.

Akyat tayo sa aming blue and white na kwarto. No pic of the whole room, dunno kase san aangulo to get the whole view. But the room is so small, not much to take a picture of anyway. :p

And my favorite part of the house... syempre ang kusina!

Our uber cute tiles! Kitchen nook! and counter top! Definitely my favorite place. :)

Buo na ang bahay. Laman nlng ang kulang. Need I say more, what else we need? Lahat! All of the above! We need plenty of household everything! For now, walls and pintura palang ang meron. Soon, in God's grace, we'll furnish the place right in time for my birthday. :)

Super konti nalang. We feel super plenty of emotions all at the same time, I don't even know how to describe what they are.

Isang sigaw lng.. OMGeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Hay!

Day check: 20 days!

PS. Thank you Lord! Sobrang dameng blessings, more to come! Amen.

the making of the rings

we've had a very busy work and preps week last week. aside from the final drafting of our invites (i'll post 'em soon pag super final na!) and gift registry in SM Homeworld, we also managed to finalize our ring designs and give our sizes to goldenhills.

we've booked goldenhills August last year because we were intrigued w/ their lay away plans. we thought then that we got them for a low price only to find out after researching that they were a wee bit pricey. we didn't mind though since we (actually Von - the rings are his gift to me) get to pay them in gives for a year. now we are on our last stretch of payment, which we will be settling in July, and we have to have our rings made.

Time flies!

we visited goldenhills SM the Block and viewed the rings we chose last year. We can still change them but pricing may change as well so we opted not to, we fell in love w/ this rings the first time we saw them anyway.

von & vin forever rings
i took the picture using my camphone which explains the blurryness. accdg sa description na sinulat ni ate goldenhills, rings are made of 14k white gold, shiny top & bottom border and matte inner finish. Von's ring is a plain band while mine has 3 diamonds embedded in the band.

we chose a scripture to be engraved on them..
von's will have - "love never fails" - 8.20.11
vin's will say - 1 cor 13: 8 - 8.20.11

aside from the rings, goldenhills will also give us free arrhae holders.

of course we just had to try them again!

my ring is obviously very big for my super nipis fingers. though they don't fit either of us yet, the feel of the jewelry on our finger just gives us more reasons to be excited and feel nervous for the upcoming day.

geez... time flies!

black envelopes, wer na u?!?

While most of my FB friends are celebrating and hating on todays' Mavs victory, I on the other hand is more busy finding a very elusive black envelope for our wedding invitation. There was a time when I was all up for sports, basketball, nba, the works, but I'm a rocker's girl now. I still understand basketball but I'm more interested with rock n' roll now, hah! And in line w/ rock n' roll is preps for our rockin' wedding that requires invitations w/  rockin' freakin' black envelope!

Paisley
As I've posted a while back, we're DIYing (do it yourself) our invites. The layout is pretty much done already and thanks to my artistic talent (hah!) I was able to come up w/ a black & white & purple DIY invites. To brag more of my artistic talents, lol, the invites has paisley designs, I first used a damask pattern but I've been seeing this pattern all over weddings already so I decided on paisley. We're very in on paisley this days, since Tito Boy (gown&suit maker) will make Von's under polo w/ paisley, so the invites will match his outfit hah! I'll post a pic of the invites soon, as soon as i find the black envelopes!

Going back, we've looked all over Divi and National for black slim size envelopes but to our luck, we've found none. Any ideas where I can find them? Here's a pic of what we're looking for:

Look's simple eh? How come wala kame makita.... Boo! Anyways we're planning to dress it up w/ an address label and purple wax seal to make it look a little like this.

of course more paisley design and a purpler wax seal :D
I've also inquired w/ several invitation supplies and only 2 have responded for now, 1 says they sell it for P15/pc and the other P54/pc. Napakamahal right?!?!? Haayz... Perfect black envelopes, where na ba you? Here na me, waiting for you!

1st diy: pinwheels - check!

May 30. Monday. Von and I took yet another tiring trip to divi to buy paper and materials for some of our diy decors for our ceremony.

We went thru the streets of Tabora and Ylaya, 168 mall, Cluster mall and Binondo and luckily found most of the things we needed.

Side story: we had a late lunch at Sincerity's cafe and resto in Binondo though it was a tiring walk away from Divi, we really wanted to visit because of their famous fried chicken. And we were not disappointed. No exaggeration, their's was the BESTEST fried chicken I've ever tasted and Von surely seconds this motion! Here's a pic of their specialty to entice your appetite.

Sincerity Chicken

After Divi exhausted all our energy, we went home to Nova to organize our messy purchase. I wanted to be able to at least start something that day so we started making pinwheels.

Here are our finished product:

in different shades and sizes

:D

finished product

von & his rotating pinwheel

in storage - wag lng kau masisira!
We are not really very crafty people so this simple output makes us sooo proud! And I'm prouder to say that the finished products are a collaborative effort of both me and h2b! DIY FTW! Yeah!
