the making of the rings

we've had a very busy work and preps week last week. aside from the final drafting of our invites (i'll post 'em soon pag super final na!) and gift registry in SM Homeworld, we also managed to finalize our ring designs and give our sizes to goldenhills.

we've booked goldenhills August last year because we were intrigued w/ their lay away plans. we thought then that we got them for a low price only to find out after researching that they were a wee bit pricey. we didn't mind though since we (actually Von - the rings are his gift to me) get to pay them in gives for a year. now we are on our last stretch of payment, which we will be settling in July, and we have to have our rings made.

Time flies!

we visited goldenhills SM the Block and viewed the rings we chose last year. We can still change them but pricing may change as well so we opted not to, we fell in love w/ this rings the first time we saw them anyway.

von & vin forever rings
i took the picture using my camphone which explains the blurryness. accdg sa description na sinulat ni ate goldenhills, rings are made of 14k white gold, shiny top & bottom border and matte inner finish. Von's ring is a plain band while mine has 3 diamonds embedded in the band.

we chose a scripture to be engraved on them..
von's will have - "love never fails" - 8.20.11
vin's will say - 1 cor 13: 8 - 8.20.11

aside from the rings, goldenhills will also give us free arrhae holders.

of course we just had to try them again!

my ring is obviously very big for my super nipis fingers. though they don't fit either of us yet, the feel of the jewelry on our finger just gives us more reasons to be excited and feel nervous for the upcoming day.

geez... time flies!

mental bother

haaaay... this week has been very confusing for me. i seriously think that there's something wrong with how my mind works. seriously! seriously wrong!

my mind has been thinking a lot of twisted thoughts lately that even i get amazed. i've always had an average IQ but since i've been so amazed w/ my thoughts lately i decided to test myself.

Accdg to IQtest.com, my general IQ score is 110.

I would have to buy something  from them to get my score interpreted. so i googled....

Borderline superior intelligence.

far from genius.. superiority is great but dangerously scary.

superior intelligence plus my personality. very dangerous combination. seriously seriously wrong.

Food Post: Army Navy

Weekend! Everybody love weekends! For me one of the best things about weekends is my diet break. Von and I went back to Army Navy today and all I can say is... YUM!!! Grabe galet galet muna kme kumain.

I'm not really a fan of burgers coz I'm more of a rice person (which explains the big tummy) but Army Navy's burger was one of the best I've ever tasted.

For 145Php, you get their classic, single beef patty, quarter pound burger. Add another 30Php and you get an additional bacon and cheese toppings!

We also ordered, the starving sailor steak sandwich (Thinly sliced Rib Eye Steak topped with JalapeƱo-cheese spread, green bell peppers and caramelized onions in an 8-inch Sourdough bread) for 235Php.

Syempre the meal wouldn't be complete w/o extras! Freedom Fries and Onion Rings both at 60Php and their own brew tea they call Libertea for 55Php.

Freedom fries - bestest fries ever!
Next time (hopefully, next weekend!) we'll go back and try their chicken and quesadilla! I'll bring a better camera for more enticing pictures!

Burrrp! Sarap ng weekend! Tara, kain tau!

my plate of half burger and half starving sailor steak sandwich

OPM is rock n roll!

I'm a late bloomer to rock music.
For a newbie, I must say that I am simply in awe.
There's more to it than loudness and noise.
It is brilliance and talent at its simplest form.

This is true OPM! This is rock n' roll! \m/

update update!

diet update!

1st week of tuna and flakes diet was, no not a blast, but successful. I was able to succeed with just eating tuna and sky flakes and banana and coffee for my entire shift from Tuesday to Friday last week. Though it wasn't easy, I was easily angered (not that I'm not on normal meals!) and a little weak but I survived! I took a break during the weekend and Monday and ate 2 full meals (1 meal rice and the other either pasta or burger or just viands w/ small rice portions). As of yesterday, Tuesday, I started again with the tuna. I noticed a few rashes on my arms, neck and hands last Saturday. I thought I had allergies from the new perfume I bought from HK and kept blaming it for the rash until Von realized that I had been eating tuna all week for which I'm more allergic too. Hopefully, the rashes won't be that serious and can be continuously treated by my anti-allergy creams so I can still go on w/ my tuna diet. Sabe ko nga, "mas ok na akong ginagalis, wala naman peklat after kesa mataba!" Lol!

envelopes update!

I found the black envelopes that I was looking for today @ P10 e. Yes, it still a little pricey (I was targetting P5!) but its the cheapest we've found when we searched in Recto. When Nanay quoted P10 for the envelopes we agreed already instead of us going further in Recto that might cost us our lives!

Well, all's well that ends well! Happy Wednesday! Goodnight!

my thoughts out loud

my thoughts for today.
I can't keep them inside I need to write them out.
I'm hoping time won't come that I would need to say them aloud.

  • I've never felt this disappointed for a long time.
  • today started like crap, I tried sleeping my heavy feelings out but my thoughts kept waking me
  • am I really ready?
  • you can't depend on anyone else but yourself... even the person you were sure you can depend on would disappoint you.
  • people don't care
  • I'm a believer. I respect and admire those who share their breakthroughs and good fortune even if I have not personally experienced them, even if I don't believe yet. Am I ready to be surrounded by non-believers? Not just non-believers, harsh non-believers. Am I ready to influence them? or will they influence me?
  • I thought I was a natural control freak, now I know why I feel the need to control. because, I have no one else to depend on
  • is it all worth it?
  • at the end of the day, after the effort, after all the hard work, a nagging feeling at the back of my mind continues to ask me "what for?"
my thoughts for today.
I can't keep them inside I need to write them out.
I'm hoping time won't come that I would need to say them aloud.

black envelopes, wer na u?!?

While most of my FB friends are celebrating and hating on todays' Mavs victory, I on the other hand is more busy finding a very elusive black envelope for our wedding invitation. There was a time when I was all up for sports, basketball, nba, the works, but I'm a rocker's girl now. I still understand basketball but I'm more interested with rock n' roll now, hah! And in line w/ rock n' roll is preps for our rockin' wedding that requires invitations w/  rockin' freakin' black envelope!

Paisley
As I've posted a while back, we're DIYing (do it yourself) our invites. The layout is pretty much done already and thanks to my artistic talent (hah!) I was able to come up w/ a black & white & purple DIY invites. To brag more of my artistic talents, lol, the invites has paisley designs, I first used a damask pattern but I've been seeing this pattern all over weddings already so I decided on paisley. We're very in on paisley this days, since Tito Boy (gown&suit maker) will make Von's under polo w/ paisley, so the invites will match his outfit hah! I'll post a pic of the invites soon, as soon as i find the black envelopes!

Going back, we've looked all over Divi and National for black slim size envelopes but to our luck, we've found none. Any ideas where I can find them? Here's a pic of what we're looking for:

Look's simple eh? How come wala kame makita.... Boo! Anyways we're planning to dress it up w/ an address label and purple wax seal to make it look a little like this.

of course more paisley design and a purpler wax seal :D
I've also inquired w/ several invitation supplies and only 2 have responded for now, 1 says they sell it for P15/pc and the other P54/pc. Napakamahal right?!?!? Haayz... Perfect black envelopes, where na ba you? Here na me, waiting for you!

inbtw: Most random survey ever

I finally had a little time off. Time off from work, wedding preps and socials. I'm making the most of my time by listening to Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits and taking this random survey (talk about randomness and nothing to do!). Here goes...

1) What side of the heart do you draw first?
**Draws an imaginary heart on my desk** Right!

2) Can you dive without plugging your nose?
I can't dive. If I try to, I'd probably land flat on my tummy.

3) What color is your razor?
If the blade I use for shading my eyebrows is considered a razor then I'd say, PINK!

4) What is your blood-type?
Hah! I got this! A+. I grow up with a sick mom so I had to know my blood type.

5) Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
Von of course. He can bear my insanities. 24 hours would be too short for us!

6) What is a rumor someone has spread about you?
Hmmm... I've had a lot of these but they didn't matter to me. Since they didn't matter, I've forgotten most of them. I'll try to remember and get back to you.

7) How do you feel about carrots?
Should I have feelings for carrots?!?! Lol!

8) How many chairs at the dining room table?
Who's dining room table?

9) Which is the best Spice Girl?
You mean who? Haha! Posh spice of course! How could she not be when she's got the gorgeous David Beckham in her arms!

10) Do you know what time it is?
Of course. 1:40pm CT. 2:40am MNL

11) Do you know all the words to the Fresh Prince Theme Song?
No idea!

12) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?
Hah! I've just been! A week ago, the lights went out in St.Luke's Hospital, I was in the elevator when it happened. I stayed calm and waited for the generator to kick in while watching the old lady panic. Haha!

14) True or False: All's fair in love and war?
True! You get what you give. You reap what you sow. If you think you're not getting what you deserve then maybe you aren't giving enough. :D

15) Do you know how to use some words correctly, but not know the meaning?
Like? Nooo. It's better to shut up and look stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubts. Shortly put, I usually know what I say.

16) Do you like to sleep?
Yes! Who doesn't? But I can't sleep for more than 9 hours. When I get my 9 hours sleep I'm all set and ready for the day.

17) Do you know which US states don't use Daylight Savings?
Indiana? Arizona? I'm guessing that it would be between the two.

18) Do you know the song Total Eclipse of the Heart?
Yes! Thats in my playlist of videoke songs!

19) Do you want a bright yellow '06 mustang?
Who wouldn't?!

20) What's something you've always wanted?
Lots and lots and lots of clothes, shoes, bags, the works!

21) Do you have hairy legs?
Fortunately, no! I'm not hairy in any part of my body! Thank God!

22) Would you rather swim in the ocean or a lake?
What difference would it make? You get wet both ways. I'd like displaying in both ocean and lake.

23) Describe your hair.
Long, brown, soft, super straight.

24) Do you have Entomophobia?
*Googling* Entomophobia (also known as insectophobia) is a common fear of or aversion to insects and similar arthropods, and even other terrestrial invertebrate animals, such as worms. If frogs count, then yes!

25) Are you an adult?
Unfortunately, yes. I've been wanting to be when I was a teen and now that I am, I've been wanting to be a teen again!

26) Where is/are your best friend(s)?
Around. Here, there and everywhere.

27) Do you have a tan?
I'd like to think that I don't but I recently had a tan because of last weekend's mountain adventure.

28) Are you a rachel ray addict?
Not an addict but I love watching cooking shows especially Rachel Ray's.

29) Do you enjoy spending time with your mother?
Yes. Sometimes. Haha!

30) Are you a sugar freak?
Nope. I'm the only person I know who isn't fond of sweets. You can give me all the salty food and no sweets for a day and you won't hear me complain one bit.

31) Do you like orange juice
After ice tea, yes I like orange juice.

32) Where do you wish you were right now?
Home. In the beach. Out. Travelling. Anywhere but here.

journey to weight loss - update!

Day 2 of crash diet. I'm needing more motivation already!

Day 1 went well. I only had the ff:
1st meal:  Full meal - Amber's Pancit Malabon, lumpiang shanghai, BBQ and cheese pichi pichi
Lunch: 1 pack of sky flakes, 1/2 can of tuna and banana
We went to chicboy after shift and no, I didn't eat CB6! I only had 2 bots of T.Ice and calamares

Today, I need more effort! I easily get used and get tired of the same things so my mind is already starting to doubt my tuna! Haha! I need to be reminded of my reason of doing this! Hmmm.. Maybe as long as I continue to document my diet and know that my defeat will be documented will be good enough reason for me to continue and not to fail

I can do this. Tuna FTW! More luck needed, wish me more!

1st diy: pinwheels - check!

May 30. Monday. Von and I took yet another tiring trip to divi to buy paper and materials for some of our diy decors for our ceremony.

We went thru the streets of Tabora and Ylaya, 168 mall, Cluster mall and Binondo and luckily found most of the things we needed.

Side story: we had a late lunch at Sincerity's cafe and resto in Binondo though it was a tiring walk away from Divi, we really wanted to visit because of their famous fried chicken. And we were not disappointed. No exaggeration, their's was the BESTEST fried chicken I've ever tasted and Von surely seconds this motion! Here's a pic of their specialty to entice your appetite.

Sincerity Chicken

After Divi exhausted all our energy, we went home to Nova to organize our messy purchase. I wanted to be able to at least start something that day so we started making pinwheels.

Here are our finished product:

in different shades and sizes

We are not really very crafty people so this simple output makes us sooo proud! And I'm prouder to say that the finished products are a collaborative effort of both me and h2b! DIY FTW! Yeah!
